our product would be distributed on social media putting it up on I Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and, Pintrest. this would allow people who are interested in short films and film making in general will have easy access to our product. Instagram allows the use of hashtags, which means it will group posts together with the same hashtags. this allows for our product to placed among other similar content, the more hashtags you use means the more people will see it. Posting it on your account will allow all your followers to see it on their feed, this is where having a large follower base will come in handy as the more followers you have the more will see your product. some large accounts offer paid advertising on their accounts. here advertising is not as expensive as some advertising like national news paper cost which is approx. $7 for three lines and $2.78 for every line after that and if you want pictures its around another $7 for colored and $5 for monochromatic. Instagram adds , however, cost only $5 dollars for every 24 hours that you want it up. these accounts can have more that 500 thousand followers meaning that an average of about 250 thousand and more will have a chance of seeing the post. So technically for $20 we could pay two big accounts to advertise our short film for two days, meaning that over 500 thousand people will be exposed to our short film. if they like it the will most likely share it with their friends and this would mean that it would spread even more. Social media is more popular than newspaper nowadays and so this kinda of advertising is much more efficient and produces more results as more people spend time on social media than on the newspaper.
Film festival are a good way to show off our product to an audience that would appreciate what we did and also have insight on how we can make it better. NZIFF is the New Zealand International film festival this is being help from April to August this year and anyone can enter their short films or feature length films, provided they meet the requirements which are that you cannot submit a film that is already been submitted before and it cannot be already be in circulation it must be the first time it is publicly shown to an audience. This allows more recognition by industry professionals who can help invest in upcoming film makers by helping to advertise their products. Meeting people in the industry will also allow you to receive constructive criticism from people who are more experienced than us.
YouTube is a another good platform to use however it requires an already strong subscriber base. We could ask for support within our church community, meaning that our film will be advertised through word of mouth helping also to build a strong follower basis. having a good following on YouTube will place our video on people's recommended lists which will significantly boost views and recognition.
