Creative Critical Reflection: Question 2

our product engages  the audience by using a heavy contrast of two lives. in one life the main character is happy and seems to be content with what he is doing. However in the "bad life" he is noticeably more drowsy and apathetic shown by the way he drags his feet across the floor and the fact that the his house is a complete mess. this intends to show what the life off an assassin would be more like and how joyless it would really be. The contrast is very exaggerated by the music played in the background which should convey that his life is now completely different. as the joyful music in the "good life" is contrasted with low droning sounds and slow piano. which also evokes a feeling of being tired and lazy. The camera shots in the beginning are more spacious and bright to show his internal state. he is happy and content with his life. but in the other life the camera is shaky and the lighting is dark and cold to show that he has become a cold person. this would contrast the audiences opinion of assassins as people who live hard but luxurious lives as seen in movies like John Wick but this shows that the life of an Assassin is not as cool as it is portrayed.

our product would be distributed on social media putting it up on I Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and, Pintrest. this would allow people who are interested in short films and film making in general will have easy access to our product. Instagram allows the use of hashtags, which means it will group posts together with the same hashtags. this allows for our product to placed among other similar content, the more hashtags you use means the more people will see it. Posting it on your account will allow all your followers to see it on their feed, this is where having a large follower base will come in handy as the more followers you have the more will see your product. some large accounts offer paid advertising on their accounts. here advertising is not as expensive as some advertising like national news paper cost which is approx. $7 for three lines and $2.78 for every line after that and if you want pictures its around another $7 for colored and $5 for monochromatic. Instagram adds , however, cost only $5 dollars for every 24 hours that you want it up. these accounts can have more that 500 thousand  followers meaning that an average of about 250 thousand and more will have a chance of seeing the post. So technically for $20 we could pay two big accounts to advertise our short film for two days, meaning that over 500 thousand people will be exposed to our short film. if they like it the will most likely share it with their friends and this would mean that it would spread even more. Social media is more popular than newspaper nowadays and so this kinda of advertising is much more efficient and produces more results as more people spend time on social media than on the newspaper.

Film festival are a good way to show off our product to an audience that would appreciate what we did and also have insight on how we can make it better. NZIFF is the New Zealand International film festival this is being help from April to August this year and anyone can enter their short films or feature length films, provided they meet the requirements which are that you cannot submit a film that is already been submitted before and it cannot be already be in circulation  it must be the first time it is publicly shown to an audience. This allows more recognition by industry professionals who can help invest in upcoming film makers by helping to advertise their products. Meeting people in the industry will also allow you to receive constructive criticism from people who are more experienced than us.

YouTube is a another good platform to use however it requires an already strong subscriber base. We could ask for support within our church community, meaning that our film will be advertised through word of mouth helping also to build a strong follower basis. having a good following on YouTube will place our video on people's recommended lists which will significantly boost views and recognition.
